Ernest Beutel – Artist Statement
Art is a balancing act that compels me to create mixed-media paintings that are an oxymoron. They are abstract, yet representational. They have a somewhat urban flair, with a country influence. The lines float like gossamer strings yet jam down hard like a bass-playing elephant. I use spray paint, acrylic paint, marker and crayons to develop my ongoing journey toward jagged creatures, painted pixels, and whimsical curves. There is no right or wrong in art, just different interpretations. I am thrilled to continue my artistic voyage. – Ernest Beutel, May, 2020
